11/25/14 - AEC Novi

When we arrived at AEC, the staff immediately greeted us. They were all very helpful and polite. We didn't have to wait long before we saw Dr. Venema. She was kind and gentle with Gabby and very informative to us. She did an ultra sound on Gabby and had suspicions that Gabby could have cancer in her spleen. We visited one more time to make sure Gabby's red blood count was not declining. The following Sunday, Gabby took a turn for the worse. I called AEC and asked if we should bring her in. After conferring with the vet they said I should call the surgeon and get Gabby in ASAP to have her spleen removed. On November 24 she had her spleen removed. The surgeon said that Gabby's spleen had ruptured and it was a good thing that we got her in when we did. If not for AEC our little Gabby may not be here. We are still waiting for Lab results to tell us what type of cancer she has. Dr. Venema is a kind, caring and most of all, an excellent vet. I would recommend her to anyone who has an ill pet. Our pet is like our child, she is our baby. It is devastating when they become ill. Gabby's sister was very concerned about her, she started pulling her hair out, looks like another trip to the vet. Thank you Dr. Venema and staff, you are the best! - Gabby's Owner [Avg. Score: 5.0
